It’s been a long time since I paid a proper visit to Los Angeles. Like more than ten years.<\/p>\n

Let’s change that, shall we? I’ll be teaching a whole series of classes at various locations in L.A. during the weekend of January 9-12, and I’d love it if you’d join me!<\/p>\n

We’ll be starting out with the fun and easy Woodland Stroll Cape<\/a> at Sew L.A.<\/a> on Friday evening, January 10. Shaerie tells me that the cape is perfect for L.A.’s cool January weather, so I’ll pack my cape and we’ll get busy making yours! You’ll be prepping for the class and getting your fabric cut out with Shaerie, and when I’m in town for the second class I’ll show you some great tricks for a really professional finish. This is a terrific opportunity to try matching plaids, if you’ve been intimidated to try it so far.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, January 11, I’ll be teaching my smocked necklace<\/a> workshop at French General for their Art of Craft<\/a> workshops. This will be especially fun since Kaari is dip-dyeing the pre-pleated necklace panels in indigo so they’re all ready for you and you’ll get that cool ombre effect<\/a> to your necklace, making it extra beautiful and contemporary.<\/p>\n

And on Sunday, January 12, I’ll be over at Sew Modern<\/a> for a full-day fit workshop featuring my Lisette Attache<\/a> Dress and Peplum Top pattern, Simplicity 1666.<\/p>\n

I love this class because it’s so much fun to teach! I’ll be showing all the tips and tricks for making and fitting a muslin, so you’ll learn just how easy it really is to alter a pattern to fit your own body. Get ready! We’ll spend some serious time together in this class. You’ll leave at the end of the day with a muslin that fits really well, a pattern that’s adjusted for your body, and the ability to put your new skills into practice for your other sewing projects.<\/p>\n

Oh, and to wrap the whole thing up, I’ll also be speaking to the LA Modern Quilt Guild<\/a> on the evening of Monday, January 13. I’m really looking forward it and promise to have some interesting topics to talk about!<\/p>\n
