Here are a few of my favorite summer pieces that I plan to wear well into fall and winter. These are pieces you could make and wear now, and continue to wear them as the weather changes.<\/p>\n

Satin Garibaldi Skirt<\/a><\/h3>\n

I’ve had a few of these satin Garibaldi Skirts<\/a> in my regular wardrobe for several years now, with no signs of stopping! A classic style that I wear for all seasons. It was great with simple tops and flip flops this summer and I’ll keep wearing it into autumn and winter in a variety of ways. Linen Classic Shirt<\/a><\/h3>\n

Need I say more? I wear the Classic Shirt<\/a> all year round, but I love it in linen for summer because it can go everywhere: from the beach to dinner or a museum. Roll the sleeves up and you’ll be comfortable on even the hottest days. I love the crumpled texture and will start pairing it with denim as the weather cools.<\/p>\n

Tropical wool City Stroll Wrap Skirt<\/a><\/h3>\n

The City Stroll Wrap Skirt<\/a> is another piece I’ve been wearing since we released it more than 10 years ago. Dressier than shorts, less hot and sticky than a longer skirt. The tropical wool is an ideal fabric for this style and for summer, even for the hottest of hot days in Madrid. I wear this style year round, and in winter it gets paired with opaque tights. I’ve also sewn this from khaki viscose twill, and I’m making another one in white.<\/p>\n

Tropical wool Cannes Trousers<\/a><\/h3>\n

The Cannes Trousers sewing pattern<\/a>\u00a0is my absolute basic wardrobe item. Made from black tropical wool, they get worn at least once a week, in the fall and winter probably at least four times a week. I also wear them in khaki and in cream viscose twill. I’m making a pair in lightweight dark denim, too. Honestly this is probably my most-worn item of clothing. I just bought more tropical wool for my next pair because this is such a staple for me.<\/p>\n

Silk satin Norwood Blouse<\/a><\/h3>\n

Don’t ask me why, but the long-sleeved Tee is trending this summer. A long sleeve tee is a classic, obviously, but this summer it’s been especially popular, worn with shorts. Frankly, it’s been way too hot in Madrid to wear mine, but once this heat abates I’ll be wearing my Norwood Blouses with shorts and skirts. I’m excited for the weather to turn a little cooler, too, so I can wear it under blazers and my Prado Trench Coat<\/a>.<\/p>\n
