By popular demand, here are 6 more details to inspire you, You can add these to something you’re sewing or–in a some cases–to something that’s already in your wardrobe. They are a great way to embellish, stretch your creativity, and add something special to your clothing.<\/p>\n

1. If you like heirloom sewing but have limited time (or a minimalist style) you might want to add a little entredeux or some pintucks<\/a> to just the back of a Classic Shirt<\/a>.<\/p>\n

2. I’m a big fan of the hanger loop as a detail on jacket or shirt, and this photo got me thinking that you could anchor the ends of the hanger loop with two mother-of-pearl buttons for a nice touch. Or just add the buttons if you want!<\/p>\n

3. Belt loops can be a subtle but interesting way to express yourself, too! This beltloop is tucked into a pleat. You could tuck a belt loop into a fish dart or a dart on a dress like our Bistro Dress<\/a> for an intriguing change.<\/p>\n

4. How cool are these braided belt loops? You’ll simply make the belt loops longer and sew them into the waistband at an angle before weaving them and tucking them into the top edge of the waistband. These will look great with or without a belt. I would use these on our Cannes Trousers<\/a>, which are my favorite trouser pattern at the present.<\/p>\n

5. A simple embroidery addition to the neckband on a T-shirt makes it special. And speaking practically, this could mask a tear or a stain on an older tee. I’d love to try this on a single-color Neighborhood Sweatshirt<\/a> because I like a good raglan sleeve, and this would make it just a little special.<\/p>\n

6. Another embellishment just for the pure fun of it! What about a paper airplane embroidered on your collar or the back of your jacket or shirt? I wonder if you could even fashion a tiny airplane out of a scrap of ribbon and make it 3D? This one is very lighthearted, so I might choose the Brunswick Jacket<\/a> for a little fun.<\/p>\n
