Now that Me Made May is over, you might be relieved to stop documenting your outfits\u2014or maybe you’ve gotten used to it! Either way, I encourage you to keep going, even if you’re not always wearing handmade clothes or sharing your photos online.<\/p>\n

Why? Because tracking your outfits can help in a few key ways: it sharpens your personal style, highlights your most-worn pieces, guides your sewing plans, and makes packing for travel easier. Here\u2019s how.<\/p>\n

First, style. When you review your photos, you’ll start to see what you naturally gravitate toward and what suits you. It\u2019s also a great time to try out pieces you love but don\u2019t usually wear\u2014maybe something you made but never reach for. Seeing these looks together helps clarify what you like, what you don\u2019t, and why. I\u2019m a fan of the Three Word method (which I\u2019ve mentioned before<\/a>). My words are Tailored, Casual,<\/em> and Feminine.<\/em> I love mixing structured pieces like button-ups and trousers with relaxed elements and a feminine detail\u2014heels, jewelry, or a red lip. If an outfit doesn\u2019t feel right when I put it on, it\u2019s usually because it’s missing one of those three words.<\/p>\n

Second, identifying your most-worn pieces. Your photo log quickly shows you what you reach for most. For me, it\u2019s my black Cannes Trousers\u2014even more than jeans. So when I planned my spring sewing, I prioritized two more pairs of our Cannes Trousers<\/a>: white and khaki. I already knew they’d work well with my wardrobe and style.<\/p>\n

Finally, packing. Looking back at your outfits makes it so much easier to pack efficiently. I stick to pieces that coordinate and reflect my style. For my summer trip to the U.S., I\u2019ll likely bring these new khaki Cannes Trousers<\/a>, a long skirt (maybe the one from our Tomigaya Dress<\/a>), a City Stroll Wrap Skirt<\/a>, Lisboa Shorts<\/a>, a few tops (including a linen Classic Shirt<\/a> , a Santa Rosa Top<\/a>, and the Lisette for Butterick 6901 vest<\/a>), two pairs of shoes, accessories, a light jacket, and a scarf. Done!<\/p>\n
