I like to wear-test all our patterns when we’re developing them. This way I can be sure they are comfortable, work into our collection well, and are just generally something I want to include in our pattern collection. And usually I’m pretty excited about the styles and want to incorporate them into my own wardrobe as soon as possible, so late last summer–while the patterns were being printed–I took some of them along on vacation. Here are a few photos of them from a week we spent in northern Spain. (This is also when we took the photos of my black linen Tomigaya Shirt Dress<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

Temperatures in northern Spain can vary a lot, from warm days to cool nights, so this was a great trip for layers. I wore my eyelet Isola Blouse<\/a> with jeans, and when the temperature felt cooler I added the Brunswick Jacket<\/a>. These two pieces together are a lot of texture, but the jacket is easy to wear over everything. I really want to make the blouse again in satin, which will be another interesting texture and contrast with jeans and fuzzy sweaters this winter.<\/p>\n

And here is the Isola Blouse<\/a> by itself, with the jacket standing ready…\u00a0 If you’ve ever visited El Capricho de Gaudi<\/a> in Comillas this little nook will look familiar to you.<\/p>\n

All the new styles have gotten lots of wear by me, and I hope you’ll enjoy wearing them, too.<\/p>\n
