Sharon<\/a> from the Advisors Circle is back on the blog today. You might remember her previous posts about her\u00a0Grecian-inspired Marais Dress<\/a> or her pretty smocked Chai Tee<\/a>. Today she’s talking about her modified Verdun Woven T-Shirt<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

I was so excited for the Verdun Woven T-Shirt<\/a> pattern to release last autumn and couldn’t wait to sew up some summer tops. I decided to make a modification on the back to add a V-shaped notch. I love this detail of the blouse and fell in love with a blouse on Liesl ‘s Pinterest board that had the V on the back of the blouse instead of the front.<\/p>\n

\"Make<\/p>\n

The pattern comes with a V neckline, so it was easy to modify it for my vision. To move the V shape to the back neckline, I made a new back facing pattern piece by combining the existing back facing pattern piece with the front V notch.<\/p>\n

I found the fit of this pattern to be relaxed and comfortable for a woven pattern. I graded it up two sizes from the underarm to the hem as I have extra curves in stomach\/hip area. I love being able to print out the pattern with a D cup size. No FBA needed!<\/p>\n

\"The<\/p>\n

I used a lighter weight cotton that has a lovely drape. It is very breathable, which is perfect for me as I tend to overheat in the summer. This blouse has already become a favorite of mine. I will be making up one more short sleeve version and will be trying out the long sleeve version as well.<\/p>\n

\"Sew<\/p>\n

The Verdun is a no-fuss pattern and I was able to make it an afternoon, even including time to make a muslin first. I highly recommend the Verdun to a beginner for all these reasons.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
