I&#8217;ve noticed that my schedule has picked up quite a bit these last few weeks; many more activities in the evenings and weekends, and next weekend S and I are taking a long-anticipated trip to Paris, at long last!<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve squeezed in some sewing for myself recently as well, which I&#8217;m eager to show you. My most significant sewing accomplishment was three pairs of Hollywood Trousers in black, navy, and cream. I&#8217;ll tell you about them shortly. Isn&#8217;t the big plaid fun? I&#8217;ve made my trouser legs narrower, and I&#8217;ll be showing you how to do it yourself very soon.<\/p>\n<p>For now, however, some weekend reading to keep you company.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Weekend Reading<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I recently <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1o4yFoDSSswU49bP9VzAzgDQDDk0lILzu\/view\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">switched to this safety razor<\/a> for environmental reasons, and I have to tell you that I love it! It requires a very light hand, but my sensitive skin is much happier. Who would have guessed?<\/li>\n<li>S and I have been missing NYC a lot this week. Living abroad comes with periodic homesickness, for sure! Reading this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/11\/10\/style\/casa-magazines-west-village.html?unlocked_article_code=AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACEIPuonUktbfqohlSVUaAybOQckjo1qNjOPGhbk1iXbsLS6YUnNdwv8JRpaB_0PEaqclZ8c2237TYu59B4IVZa44yP5DbQsqQhO0o5CAldNYeSk-pNjtDiZm1cvDGO1i_G6vPmLmI6IvnrPk70rXazS5UfbPwDZ2clYe1Jhicl2gyCZIkv-DSrgpr4E4ifQxBZl6RSMDZD2Jt5TrDBZ8MNaGZ3LM-1V8GrEZCXyIw4nqu_9Xex5SCFnFUHt__W89jdtYM9ocN631RAUyZHMLe2X0A9zfL9cxB7IvsA&amp;smid=url-share\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">article about my favorite magazine shop<\/a> didn&#8217;t help. And then it turns out that a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/news\/asian-america\/beloved-ny-fabric-shop-close-46-years-rcna4129?utm_source=pocket_mylist\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">beloved shop in our old neighborhood is closing<\/a>. Oh, whoa is me!<\/li>\n<li>Speaking of nostalgia, I loved this piece on <a href=\"https:\/\/catapult.co\/stories\/mari-meyer-netherlands-stroopwafels-immigration-pandemic?utm_source=pocket&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=pockethits\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">stroopwafels and longing<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>For some reason I&#8217;ve been thinking about the copy of the Mona Lisa at the Prado since the pandemic started. I kept going back, hoping to see it again, but that part of the museum was closed. So what a nice surprise to discover there is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.museodelprado.es\/en\/whats-on\/exhibition\/leonardo-and-the-copy-of-the-mona-lisa-new\/e82c9d2b-7d81-5c14-cf5b-3ed5c1f587fb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">an entire exhibit about it now<\/a>! I recommend it if you get a chance.<\/li>\n<li>I&#8217;ve also been thinking a lot about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.economist.com\/books-and-arts\/2021\/10\/16\/why-you-have-an-accent-in-a-foreign-language?fbclid=IwAR2qeruQ0sbFVzD8tWQBrBf9LWsdKvXW0qkIH99eeKC6X5aHrHDKxg6dGg4&amp;utm_source=pocket_mylist\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this article and how true it is<\/a>.
