Aimee<\/a> is back from the Advisors Circle, this time with a post about her brand-new Verdun Woven T-Shirt<\/a>. You may remember her from posts about her flat-front Montauk Trousers<\/a>, her quilted Woodland Cape<\/a>\u00a0and her Noord Sweatshirt<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

I\u2019ve sewn a few different woven t-shirt patterns over the past year or so. Hands down, the Verdun Woven T-Shirt<\/a> wins the award for easiest, quickest construction.<\/p>\n

I opted to sew up the short-sleeved version with a scoop neck. The pattern also gives the option of long sleeves, and View B has a V-notched neckline.<\/p>\n

\n<\/a>I\u2019ve wanted a gingham shirt for a while and when I saw this pattern, I knew that it would be the perfect one to splurge on a little fabric. I used quilter\u2019s cotton in a copper gingham and I sewed up a size medium, which takes roughly 2 yards of fabric. The perfect amount of happy yardage.<\/p>\n

I can\u2019t even describe how quickly this shirt comes together. The neckline and hemline both use facings and the hemline facing gives such a beautiful finish. For the short-sleeved version, the sleeves are integrated into the pattern so all you need to do is hem the sleeve edges and voila!<\/p>\n

This pattern is amazingly versatile and I know it will easily become a closet staple for all the seasons. I\u2019ve got a few friends longing to learn how to sew and this is a spectacular pattern for a new seamstress to sew up. There are so many ways that you could modify this pattern, from using contrasting fabric for the facings to hand stitching the facings down to give it that little extra bling. So go grab yourself a couple of happy\u00a0yards and an afternoon and give this pattern a try; you won\u2019t regret it!<\/p>\n
