Here’s the Rush Hour Blouse<\/a> I sewed for myself to test the pattern. This was leftover poly-rayon crepe from S’s dress on page 16 of the Building Block Dress book<\/a>. I loved this fabric, and she loved the dress so much I sewed it for her a second time when she out-grew the first one. Sadly she’s outgrown it again and there wasn’t enough to sew another or we could be twins!<\/p>\n

I usually wear this top with black trousers or a pencil skirt (I like navy and black together), but it was photo day so I just threw it on with jeans. (I got tired of climbing three flights of stairs every time I needed to change clothes for all the blog posts I’ve been writing, so I started just changing my top in the lobby, hoping no one entered or exited the building in the meantime!)<\/p>\n

This fabric was a little denser and less drapey than the fabrics we used on the cover of the envelope, and I like it better as a result. It hangs just the right amount and doesn’t require a lot of care. Wool crepe would be terrific for it, but it’s difficult to get here in Spain.<\/p>\n
