\nI live with my husband is a small village (500 pop.) in a beautiful mountain area by a deep, cold lake. I spend a great deal of time in my messy (but organized) studio, painting and sewing. The winter was spent by the wood stove busily creating and listening to CBC radio.

\nPattern used:<\/strong> Oliver + S Hide-and-Seek Tunic<\/a>
\nFabric used:<\/strong> Old found quilt strip (about a yard long) and cotton stripe fabric.
\nDid the fabric work well:<\/strong> Yes. I found the little scrap of old quilt top at our local thrift store. I liked its slight wonkiness and shabby chic style. The blue stripe was a leftover fabric that I had stored away. I am happy with the outcome and can\u2019t wait to see them on my granddaughters.<\/p>\n

How did the sewing go?<\/strong> Very smoothly. I find this a quick and easy pattern. I like Oliver + S patterns for their thorough instructions and lovely styles. I especially like being able to order the PDF patterns because I live in a remote area of Canada and shipping is expensive and slow. By downloading a PDF, I am busy sewing the same day that I have ordered.<\/p>\n

What was the best part?<\/strong> Realizing how cute this turned out.<\/p>\n

We all know and love the Hide-and-Seek pattern for the fact that it does such a lovely job of highlighting a favorite fabric. Next time you sew one, why not try a fabric technique and showcase it on the front yoke? It\u2019s a project that doesn\u2019t require a lot of fabric as the pattern piece isn\u2019t too big.
