I\u2019ve got a crafty mother overkill project to share with you today. To count down the days until Christmas, I made an Advent calendar for a doll. I think you might be surprised at how many Oliver + S patterns that can be used in order to make one.<\/p>\n

First of all I reduced the size of the Drawstring Bag pattern from Little Things to Sew<\/a> in order to create something to put each item in. Because an Advent calendar begins with cute packaging, right? Here is a peak into several of the drawstring bags that this lucky little doll got during the twenty-four days of Advent.<\/p>\n

\"Oliver<\/a><\/p>\n

Day 3)<\/strong> Lazy Days doll skirts<\/a> can be made just like the girl Lazy Days skirt<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Day 4)<\/strong> Customized Lazy Days doll skirts can be created by following our customized Lazy Days skirt series<\/a>. You’ll learn how to do a double-thickness hem<\/a>, how to do hem tucks<\/a>, and how to make a three stripes skirt<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"Doll<\/a><\/p>\n

Day 6)<\/strong> The Popover doll sundress<\/a> is a darling mini version of the girl one.<\/p>\n

Day 7)<\/strong> You’ll find the Tea Party doll sundress pattern in the Little Things to Sew<\/a> book. It’s just like the Tea Party sundress<\/a> for girls.<\/p>\n

\"Doll<\/a><\/p>\n

Day 9)<\/strong> These semi circle doll skirts with bias trim<\/a> are really quick and easy to make.<\/p>\n

Day 12)<\/strong> We also have a free pattern and instructions on how to sew 13-inch and 14.5-inch doll skirts<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Day 13)<\/strong> I made some Felt Bows<\/a> and put them on mini bobby pins. I printed out the pattern at scale 60%.<\/p>\n

Day 20)<\/strong> How about some doll pillows? These would look adorable as decorative pillows on a doll bed. For the heart pillow I used the Valentine Ornament<\/a> pattern. I used felt and did an exposed seam. I also created “pillow pets” by using the cat and dog heads from the Straight Stitch Society Desktop Pets Wrist Rest<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Day 24)<\/strong> On Christmas Eve it’s a gold Christmas skirt using the Onstage Tutu doll skirt<\/a> which is a small version of the girl one.<\/p>\n

Use your imagination and have fun with it. Sharon had the clever idea of making a mini jewelry pouch<\/a> by making a smaller size of the Straight Stitch Society Forget-me-not Jewelry Pouch<\/a>.<\/p>\n

And finally, I think the Doll Carrier Backpack<\/a> would make a great place to store all of the Advent calendar drawstring bags, wouldn’t that be nice?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
