Hello friends!<\/p>\n

Thank you so much for your overwhelming response to the new book! I must admit that it’s scary to announce a big project like this after spending so much time working on it. I’ve been in Paris on business all week, and I was glad for the distraction of travel to prevent me from feeling too much anxiety about our big reveal. Of course, that also means that it’s especially great to return home and read all your encouraging comments. We’re going to have a lot of fun with this!<\/p>\n

I’m also thrilled that many of you are interested in a women’s version. I really, really want to write it, so keep your fingers crossed that I can tell you yes in a couple of months. In the meantime, I’ll be busy showing you how many of the techniques in the book can translate into women’s\/men’s\/boy’s clothing as well. But of course many of you are going to be too busy sewing girls’ dresses, I know.<\/p>\n

I thought it would be fun to do a special weekend links Paris edition. It’s still summer in Paris, so I packed accordingly. (I have big feet–size U.S. 10\/Europe 42–so I guess I drew my shoes accordingly.)<\/p>\n

Emmanuelle Alt, the editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris, is often held up as a great example of French style and simplicity. I admire her for having such a well-defined uniform, which is especially practical when you’re travelling.<\/p>\n

Now that the weather is starting to cool, I’m looking forward to wearing my navy silk Gallery Dress again. This photo reminded me of it. It’s such a versatile piece that works just as well with jeans as with fancy heels. If it wasn’t so warm out yet I’d be taking it along.<\/p>\n
