Last year they met in Paris, this year in London. And what a thrill to meet so many lovely, friendly, and talented women! We had such a good time together, I can&#8217;t believe it&#8217;s already been a month since our weekend adventure.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/oliverands.com\/community\/content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/london.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-55918\" src=\"\/\/o.osimg.net\/community\/content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/london-580x686.jpg\" alt=\"london\" width=\"580\" height=\"686\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/oliverands.com\/community\/content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/sew-social-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-55921\" src=\"\/\/o.osimg.net\/community\/content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/sew-social-1-580x435.jpg\" alt=\"sew-social\" width=\"580\" height=\"435\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>While we were in London, of course, we spent time shopping for fabric. Of all the places we went, my favorite was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.clothhouse.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Cloth House<\/a>, which featured a truly incredible collection of textiles: Japanese ikats, indigo, and sashiko, as well as spectacular linen, denim, and very diverse but tightly-edited collection of high-quality fabrics of all sorts. In the future I will make special trips to London specifically to shop here.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>It was actually a bit overwhelming, and as one who is accustomed to shopping NYC&#8217;s fashion district I&#8217;m not easily overwhelmed. We also visited <a href=\"http:\/\/www.liberty.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Liberty of London<\/a> (of course), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shaukat.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Shaukat<\/a>, and a long list of other shops. Along the way we also managed a stop at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vam.ac.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">V&amp;A Museum<\/a>, a morning at <a href=\"http:\/\/boroughmarket.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Borough Market<\/a>, and we had a memorable dinner at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.arabicabarandkitchen.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Arabica<\/a> near Borough Market. I also appreciated having a chance to shop in an English bookstore now that I&#8217;ve been out of the U.S. for more than eight months.
