If you were around here last summer you might remember in August I shared the Popover Sundresses<\/a> that I donated to charity<\/a>. Well the pin for it<\/a> on Pinterest got a great response with many repins. That to me says that you (in online sewing community) have a very giving heart.<\/p>\n

With that in mind I thought you might be interested in hearing about a new movie that is currently being created. It\u2019s a film featuring Lillian Weber who took on an amazing mission and made many dresses for Little Dresses for Africa<\/a>. Wait until you learn more about her. I want to be just like her when I grow up!<\/p>\n

Lillian is one great example of sewists sharing their passions with others through charity sewing projects. She spent her last 4 1\/2 years sewing handmade, heartfelt gifts for girls she never met. Before passing away just one day shy of her 101st birthday, she had sewn a total of 1,234 dresses for needy girls!<\/p>\n

The documentary film The Little Dress: A Journey of Hope will follow the little girl (in Malawi, Africa) who receives the 1,000th dress that Lillian sewed. It will tell the story of this little girl\u2019s life and challenges, and show the true impact of one handmade dress.<\/p>\n

Vicki Vasilopoulos, an independent film maker whose first film was \u201cMen of the Cloth<\/a>\u201d, and several others are working on finishing up the film.
