The following tip is included in the Tea Party<\/a> pattern, but I wanted to pull it out and highlight it. I was sewing up a bunch of darling Tea Party Bloomers<\/a> recently and used this method to join the bias binding in the round for the leg openings on the bloomers. It\u2019s a really slick technique.<\/p>\n

\"COnnecting<\/a><\/p>\n

Here we go.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

1)<\/strong> Open out the ends of the binding.<\/p>\n

\"Connecting<\/a><\/p>\n

2)<\/strong> Fold each end to form a 45 degree angle.<\/p>\n

\"Connecting<\/a><\/p>\n

\"Connecting<\/a><\/p>\n

3)<\/strong> Crease the folds where they meet.<\/p>\n

\"Connecting<\/a><\/p>\n

4)<\/strong> Open the two creased folds. It can be helpful to mark the inside of the creases with a fabric marker.<\/p>\n

5)<\/strong> With right sides facing, match the fold lines to each other.<\/p>\n

6)<\/strong> Stitch the fold lines, creating a diagonal seam. Check to be sure the length is good and adjust the seam allowance if necessary.<\/p>\n

7)<\/strong> Trim the seam allowances.<\/p>\n

\"Connecting<\/a><\/p>\n

8)<\/strong> Press the seam allowance open.<\/p>\n

\"Connecting<\/a><\/p>\n

9)<\/strong> Finish sewing the bias tape to the garment.<\/p>\n

10)<\/strong> Refold the bias tape and finish your project.<\/p>\n
