Well, this week has gotten way from me! We’re in the middle of so many things right now: S has a chorus concert tonight, we’re both preparing for our first violin recital on Monday, the sew-along for the Butterfly Blouse starts next week, and I leave for Quilt Market early tomorrow morning. Lots to do, but it’s that time of year when everything happens at once, isn’t it? In any case, I wanted to highlight the Everyday Skirt<\/a> today.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Everyday Skirt isn’t a new pattern<\/a>. In fact, many of you already own and love it! But now that the pattern is also available in paper format<\/a> I thought we should give it a little attention again. After all, when you see the darling versions of this skirt that Jaime at Fancy Tiger is sewing up (here<\/a> and here<\/a>) it’s sort of irresistible, isn’t it?<\/p>\n

Here are a few quick ideas for you before I run off to pack my suitcase.<\/p>\n

Wear it with the Maritime Knit Top<\/a>, of course! These two styles couldn’t be more perfect with each other. I love all three of the skirts in the photos below: the blue and white print<\/a>, the cream-colored version<\/a>, and navy with white polka dots<\/a> would all be versatile and adorable. Of course, you can’t go wrong with chambray, either.<\/p>\n

Here’s an outfit I assembled<\/a> when we first released the pattern, and lo and behold, it features a shirt closely resembling the Maritime Top!<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Choose a cute printed fabric for your Everyday Skirt. I love the floral print with a graphic tee<\/a>. And the printed “bias” gingham<\/a> skirt is darling, too. You could make a similar floral top by embroidering the Maritime Top, come to think of it….<\/p>\n

Here are a few more skirt ideas for you. I still love the graphic simplicity of a good windowpane check<\/a>, and the mixed shirting patterns<\/a> on the middle skirt are so fun. You could upcycle some old workshirts for a similar look. Meanwhile, the oceanside scene<\/a> on the right makes me want to take a trip to Italy or Greece. (But then, I’d take a trip to Italy or Greece anytime….)<\/p>\n

Here is another outfit inspiration<\/a> I first assembled when we released the Everyday Skirt pattern. The orange T-shirt sort of reminds me of our Bento Tee<\/a> pattern. You too? I just washed this polka dot double gauze skirt this morning and can’t wait to wear it again!<\/p>\n
