@liesl I never would have thought of that, Liesl! Thanks so much for explaining, I’ll be trying the next size up soon!

Yes, I had the same drag line from the shoulder. I pulled out my Fit for Real People book to take a look at how to fix it, but haven’t tried it yet. I’m so glad to see it worked well for you!

Thanks everyone! I have the Fit for Real People book, so I will head to the square shoulder adjustment section and see what I can figure out. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

Got my book yesterday!! It’s absolutely beautiful and full to overflowing of everything I need to be able to confidently execute ideas I’ve had but never tried because of my fear of failing. Ridiculous, I know, but true none the less. Not any more though! And I can see where this will help me try new things in my own personal sewing too. A book like this for women will be wonderful!!

Thank you, @justsewit for chiming in. I really appreciate it. I wondered if swayback might be what I was dealing with. I’ve got the book Fit for Real People and that was the only thing I could find that looked like it might be the problem. I just haven’t really noticed that on anything else I’ve made, so I wanted someone else’s opinion! I do have access to a sewing buddy. I will have to ask her to come over soon and help me out. I’m trying really hard to be patient on this one and get it right 🙂

Let’s try the photos again, sorry they were too large to upload apparently.

That is exactly what I needed, @sarvi. I can’t thank you enough! Now for a fun weekend of sewing 🙂

I used Cal Patch’s videos on Creativebug to learn to crochet, and I’m “hooked” too! It’s so fun! Since then, I’ve bought a couple classes on Craftsy and have started making crochet hats and amigurami too. I highly recommend Stacey Trock’s classes. I am also trying to learn to knit via Creativebug and Craftsy classes. I like it, and love all the fabulous pattern choices for knitting, but I’m not as fast of a learner with knitting as I was with crochet. Definitely Continental style has been easier for me, at least for the knit stitch. Ravelry has been hugely inspiring and I love their search database. I’d love to knit a sweater! Any recommendations for a beginner pattern for both child and adult?

Thank you, Sarvi! I hadn’t even considered the Music Box jumper, but after looking at View B I think it would be perfect! And a long sleeve white Music Box blouse with peter pan collar will get lots of wear after Halloween. Perfect! 🙂

Hi! So glad I found this in the forum. I’m new here and looking for help planning a Madeline dress and cape for my 8 year old. Any ideas on which O+S pattern would be the best choice for this? This will be my first ever handmade Halloween costume, and I’m so excited about it! Thanks!!
