What fabric would you use? Not terry cloth, too thick, but I can’t think what would be good?

I have made the dress before from knit and I like it, just thought it would work well for this.

I went ahead this time with stitching that seam but I do see what you mean. My topstitching is a matching color and you almost don’t see that the faux fly is there. They never baste that seam, they just sew it. Thoughts?
