<p>I would leave off the sleeve, add a flutter and bind the arm sleeve.</p>

I simply worked out how high I wanted the neckband to be the cut the regular neckband length to twice the desired height.<br />
That gives a straight up turtleneck. Attached exactly as per the regular neckband.</p>

<p>Place the dress on and pin out the excess in long French darts, take of the dress and tailors chalk the edges of the pinned section on the inside. Baste the darts in and try on again. </p>

I would love to be part of a group like that. In junior high school (about age 12-14) that was the only class I did well in. Still love the smell of sawdust and the clang of tools.</p>
