I can’t seem to make my bear ears stand up! I’ve tried doing the hand stitching as detailed in the instructions, but it still doesn’t seem to work for me. Any tips please? Also, I’m going to make a couple more, can I add vilene to stiffen the ears and make them stand up a little better?

Hi to all of you who have completed the fabulous little bear carrier. I’m just finishing my first one (have 3 more to make for friends!) but had a little trouble with sewing up the opening curve, after I’ve turned the carrier to the right way. Should I have clipped the curves slightly before trying to turn the edges under along my basting line?…[Read more]

I have just finished my second Red Riding Hood Cape, my first projects from the LTTS book. Love the book and just love the capes. Putting the machine away for a couple of days then into a wee skirt for a friend’s 2 yr old, complete with Dora appliqué. Cross fingers it turns out well. After that…the bear carrier. Can’t wait.

I have chosen a vertical striped fabric for the cape and wondering if I’ve made the right decision! Has anyone else made it in stripes? Do you have any photos? Is it possible to line up stripes at all in the seams, or is that an impossible task?
