justsewit, I had to get creative last summer when my old serger was out of commission and I hadn’t purchased the new one yet. during that time I used a clean finish edge, it’s so basic, but I really like the added topstiching on either side of the seam. you’re right, this is a great opportunity to learn something new. this time around I think I’ll try french seams, thank you for the inspiration to do so, mama_knowles!

I’m finally getting pictures up of the Easter outfits I made for my three youngest. Here is the art museum trousers and vest I made for my little man. I love how they turned out! https://www.flickr.com/photos/41419048@N03/13974475794/

I will definitely be sewing this pattern again come Christmas, I absolutely love it.

My serger decided to stop working about half way through the final Easter outfit, a needle broke and now the timing is off. The needles are hitting the lower looper and it’s beyond my “expertise” to fix it. I took it into the repair shop and they are backed up three weeks! I’m going to have to get creative with finishing seams. 🙂

justsewit, I can’t wait to see the finished hide and seek dress, with purple silk? that will be lovely!

I just finished sewing for my first Kids Clothes Week. I made several o+s outfits and I am currently finishing the art museum trousers for my little man, I was surprised how easy welt pockets were. They made me feel silly for avoiding them for so long. I need to get my act together if I am going to finish two easter dresses by Saturday!

Now that the garden party dress it out, that would be beautiful to customize into a princess dress!

Hi everyone! I’m not really “new” I’ve been browsing the forums since they started but I am way behind on saying hi and introducing myself. I’ve been sewing since I was 5 or 6 thanks to my grandma and my mom. I sew mostly o+s for my girls and we love each and every pattern.

I am a mother of 4, I have a two girls 3 and 5 who love to wear what I make for them and I am trying to enjoy that while it lasts! I have a 9 month old boy and I have just begun to cut out some o+s patterns to sew up for him. Other than sewing and running around after kids, I dabble heavily in photography, love to cook and enjoy just about every other creative thing I have time for. I love making things, it soothes my soul.
