Which skirt to sew?

I bought some heavyweight denim (http://www.purlsoho.com/fabric/by-the-yard/robert-kaufman-denim-with-colored-motes.html) without realizing how heavy weight it actually was. I've washed it several times and it's getting softer, but it is still a stiff fabric. I originally wanted to make a swing set skirt (my go to skirt pattern) but I think it may be too stiff. Any suggestions? Anyone make a swinger with a stiffer fabric?
