Which sewing machine would you recommend?

Hi lovely people! I'm new here but have been an Oliver + S fan for quite a while. I've collected patterns and bought the book and so far managed with a machine that a friend gave me. I want to invest in a new sewing machine and would love your recommendations! What are you using? What would you buy? I consider myself a beginner but I'm very creative (interior designer) so long-term plan on learning lots, perhaps even starting a small children's clothing business. Thanks for your help!
