Vintage style patterns for boys

Thoughts on cute shapes for preschool aged boys? Things that could be adapted from Oliver+S patterns? I was thinking of shorts or pants with suspenders? Other ideas? Ways to modify an OS pattern? My boys (3) are too big for bubbles but I'd like some similarly cutesy things for them before they get too tooo big
