Thoughts on using a large-scale print?

I ordered custom-printed canvas to make a long coat but I realized the pattern I had in mind has princess seams and all the pieced details of a trenchcoat. So now I am thinking the Chaval pattern instead will let the fabric shine -- it is a large-scale anemone print in navy on natural color/beige ground. I'll need to line it in something heavier than Bemberg to really have a 3-season piece so I was looking at a pre-quilted lining. Am I barking up the wrong tree?
