Sizing – waist to hip distance

Hello! I'm about to make the Garibaldi skirt (view with pockets). As it seems to be quite fitted waist through to hips, can you tell me the waist to hip point distance (ie the vertical distance) that your patterns are drafted for? I know the "big" pattern companies use a distance of 9 inches. I am quite petite and would normally adjust this with a shortening tuck on a "Big" company pattern. But I am not sure what waist to hip point distance your patterns are drafted for, and whether I need to adjust or make it up as is. Thanks and I look forward to a reply. Deborah
