I've been working on the birthday dress and so far everything has worked out perfectly, but I'm having a serious problem with the shoulder seams. I got to the part where I need to sew them, and according to the way i interpret the instructions, my shoulder seams turn out very odd and bulky: I basically end up having sewn them together, right sides facing, such that it's front+facing x2 into one fat open seam.
Is there a measurement the arm opening should be for a size 12-18mo that i can use to join the seams my own way should the way the pattern dictates not work out?
