shoulder seam going back?style element

I usually don't have any issue in RTW of forward shoulder or even square shoulder but when I made my muslim of the gallery tunic the shoulder line was back about 1/2 inch almost up to inch of the neck line). I know I can make the adjustment but I'm wondering is that a style issue where it sits back some? Also the mandarin collar (view B) is too long and I ended up with about 1/4-3/8 too long on each end so it sticks out from the neck (not flush) any suggestions? Ava
