Question about the back neck of Geneva Blouse

I love this top and made it twice! It's perfect: casual but tidy and stylish. Love the lantern sleeves. My question is about the back neck: is it designed to sit lower than a regular collared shirt? It feels lower than I'm used to and I just want to be sure I didn't mess up the pattern when I made my adjustments. Just checking...
