Please help with front placket/patch

    Hi ladies, I could use your help! I made 3 2+2 blouses for my 18m old, but I’m not feeling pleased with how the patch and placket are joined together – what am I missing? I feel like the way it was made it so easy for my toddler to rip the placket from the patch. I posted two photos on Flickr – would love your ideas on how to make that a stronger hold. Thanks!!

    Hers is how I have made it http://fiveandcounting-motherof5.blogspot.com.au/2012/07/221-sweet-blouse.html I have not had any problems with it (yet).

    What about doing a close zigzag/satin stitch across the top of the tab where it meets the shirt? this would add stability to the join. The shirt is beautiful, how frustrating.

    The other thing you might want ot consider is what sort of thread are you using. If you are using an old or vintage thrad these have often become weakened with age. Guterman seems to be a good option in Australia but I’m not sure whats avaliable where you are
