Plaid match up

I have had the forest path pattern in my stash for some time. I was waiting for the perfect fabric - I found it today, a dark pink & black plaid in a wool blend. Only $9 per metre, a real steal! For those lovely ladies that have sewn using plaid, any handy tips? I picked up some pink bemsilk for the lining, haven't sewn with that either. I'll be sure to take the extra time to get this right for my kinder girl.
