Lining a Croquet Blouse

Hello! I am making a blouse out of a lovely lawn using the Croquet Dress pattern. As the material is a bit sheer, I was hoping to line the dress such that the main blouse and lining would be separate at the sides and bottom. I am rather new to garment sewing, though, and can't figure out how to do this; I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. Thank you!
