Classic Shirt Sleeve Cuff

I'm having a hard time figuring out the sleeve cuff of the classic shirt. I'm following along with the sew along. The instructions say to resttich the last 1" of the cuff. Is that the 1" of sewn area (so the 1/2" seam allowance + the 1") or 1" total (1/2" SA and then 1/2" of the sewn area).
