Button up button down shirt

This is my first Oliver S pattern. I'm just now cutting out the shirt and have gotten to the sleeves. The lines to cut a size 8 are different on the sleeve pattern is different than the lines on the rest of the pattern pieces. On the other pieces the lines are _ _ _ and on the sleeve they are _.._.._.. I hope that makes sense. I'm being more cautious than I normally would be because I'm making my grandson a shirt from one his fathers favorite high school shirts so the fabric is very limited. Thanks so much!
