I’m about to pin and edgestitch down the outside front yoke over the gathers and the instructions (page 3, #4) say that the yoke needs to cover the stitches – but does that include the outer line of gathering stitches (the ones sewn at 5/8″)? The seam allowance of the yoke is only 1/2″ so I’m a bit confused. Should I take the gathering stitches out first?

    Thanks!

The stitches the yoke should cover are the permanent stitches sewn at 1/2″. The gathering stitches can be removed now or later.

I tend to remove my gathering last. Just in case I have to unpick.

He is a wee post on the back yoke http://fiveandcounting-motherof5.blogspot.com.au/2012/05/ice-cream-with-some-body.html

Sometimes that can raise a few questions.

ps Thanks for your lovely comment on my blog.

    It made my day.

Thankyou ladies, that clears it up nicely (and so quickly too!)

    Mof5 – I’m a firm believer in giving compliments 😉
