Adding organza to skirt

Thanks for your help. I am making a Christmas dress for my daughter. I plan to use the flared a-line silhouette with a fully lined bodice and skirt. I am thinking of adding a short layer of ruffled organza to the outside layer of the lining. Does anyone have any experience doing this - and any advice?
