1/2 inch elastic?

    I have 1/2″ wide elastic on hand. I really would prefer not to go to the store for a new package of elastic because I am ready to sew this skirt and if I wait to buy the elastic the momentum will be gone. Do you think I will have any trouble with the smaller width?

    Not at all!

    Just sew a narrower elastic casing or if you have already stitched it you can sew along the top of the waist band to make it slimmer.

    This will create a sweet ruffle along the top edge.
