Easter is next weekend already. How did that happen so fast? It’s always fun to sew up a pretty dress for my little girl for Easter, so I thought I’d share some inspiration with you today to get those wheels turning.
This lovely dress by Tea Collection is almost the spitting image of our new Hide And Seek pattern! Sew it up in some Michael Miller Cotton Couture and create your own textured fabric on the yoke (browse the trim section of the fabric store, or maybe add a little handstitching?). Check out this tutorial to add ruffle sleeves, and your little one will have a unique and special Easter dress that transitions nicely to playtime, too.
Speaking of playtime, this dress (again from Tea Collection) is so sweet in a floral print and you could make something similar with our Playtime Dress pattern. Check back later this week for a tutorial on how to easily modify any pattern to be sleeveless. Wouldn’t this be lovely in Koi Voile?
How adorable is this little cutie in her bird print dress by Boden? Try the Puppet Show Dress in a fun bird print (like this or this or this)!
And finally, this dress by Olive Juice Kids reminds me of our Roller Skate Dress. Add a pretty ribbon to the side instead of the center front, draft a peter pan collar to fit, and you’re all set! I love a great print, but pretty solids highlight the lines of a design and create such versatile garments. Try Cotton Couture again in a blush pink, or any other pretty pastel.
Have you started sewing for Easter yet? We’d love to hear which patterns/fabrics you’re using in the comments!
