It's that time of the year again, isn't it? I'm hoping you have your travel plans made and that we'll be seeing you at Quilt Market in Salt Lake City later this week.
We have lots of Oliver + S-related events in store for you at Market this season. This month's newsletter provides the overview.
Please stop by to say hello during the show. You'll find us in booth 1229. I hope to get a chance to catch up with you then.
Cheers,
Liesl
We're excited to be previewing our next fabric collection, Cape Ann, at Market this week.
Cape Ann takes its inspiration from the work of Virginia Lee Burton, founder of the Folly Cove Design Collective and illustrator of such classic children's books as Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel and This Little House.
Cape Ann features hand-drawn illustrations which are simultaneously nostalgic and contemporary and supporting geometric prints inspired by nature. The line includes 24 SKUs in quilting cotton and 24 SKUs in a wonderful brushed cotton which has the loft, warmth, and softness of flannel.
The collection will ship next October, and Moda will be taking pre-orders for it at the show. Stop by our booth or visit your Moda sales rep to preview the prints and feel the hand of the line. We think that you and your customers will love it.
Interested in getting a sneak peek at the latest Oliver + S products? Curious about how you can use them to increase customer profitability?
Join us at Schoolhouse for a talk that will satisfy both those desires. We'll be presenting "Selling Profitability with Oliver + S" on Thursday, May 12, at 11:30AM in room 250F.
During the session, Liesl will introduce you to the new fabric line and will talk about our new and forthcoming patterns. Then Todd will present a concept called "the whale curve of profitability" and will show you how you can use it, along with some innovative pricing strategies on Oliver + S products, to turn your marginally profitable customers into profitable ones.
In its latest issue, American Quilt Retailer says that our new book, Oliver + S Little Things to Sew, "is truly one of the most beautiful of sewing books!" adding that the book's photography and styling provide retailers with several good display ideas for their stores.
You'll be able to see samples of finished projects from the book at our booth during the show. And you'll be able to pick up an autographed copy to take home with you at one of the two signings Liesl will be doing.
Meet Liesl in the Checker booth on Friday, May 13, between 3:45 and 4:30 or in the United Notions booth on Saturday, May 14, between 3:00 and 3:30.
