Oliver + S Wholesale Customer Newsletter
June, 2010, Vol. 21
It was wonderful to reconnect with so many of you last month at
Quilt Market in Minneapolis. For those of you who we didn't get a chance
to
see at the show, we've written a few
blog
posts that recap our Market activities. One of the highlights
of our
visit to the Twin Cities was receiving the FabShop Network's first
Rising
Star award at their Market kick off dinner. We're very
grateful for your votes for this award and for your continued support!
In this month's newsletter, we focus on our new City Weekend fabric
collection. Your Moda sales rep will be taking orders for the line this
month, and we wanted to be sure that you're aware of some of the line's
unique features if you didn't have a chance to see
and feel the fabrics at Market.
And, to help you plan for how to sell the luxurious cotton interlock
knits included in City Weekend, we're providing you with a preview of
two of our four Fall 2010 patterns that are written especially for
knits. They will be shipping at the same time as the fabric.
Cheers,
Liesl
Recapping the Release of City Weekend
for Moda
We were thrilled to introduce our first fabric collection, City Weekend,
at Quilt Market last month. For those of you who stopped
by the booth to chat, we can't tell you how much your enthusiasm about
the line means to us.
If you didn't order at the show, your Moda sales rep will be
taking orders for the line this month, for delivery in September. Be
sure to set an appointment with your rep during June because
the line will not be available for long after it begins shipping. If
you don't currently have a Moda rep, contact Kathy Bauer at
972-484-8901 ext. 6621 to request a call.
We recapped many of the line's features in
last
month's newsletter, but Moda has now released their Quilt
Market Look Book featuring swatches of each print and color way. We've
included a photo in
this
blog post to give you more detail on the line. And at Quilt
Market Moda filmed Liesl introducing the line and discussing some of
its features. You can
view
the video on our blog as well.
In addition to the fabric, there are several other packaged items
available. Moda is doing its standard pre-cut program with the line,
and there are jelly rolls, layer cakes, and charm packs available in
addition to a few assortments.
We have also designed a very special quilt to accompany the line, and
Moda is making it available as a free pattern and as a kit. (You can
see a
photo of the quilt draped over the table in the second-to-last photo of
this
blog post.) The quilt kit will come with instructions for
making an
accompanying fitted crib sheet from the interlock knit fabrics that are
also available as part of the City Weekend line. Your Moda rep has full
details for you.
Fall 2010 Knits Pattern Preview
And speaking of the interlock knits in City Weekend, at Quilt
Market we began showing some of the wonderful things you can do
with them.
This September, to coincide with the delivery of the
fabric, we will be releasing four new patterns--two of which we have
designed especially for the knits.
Our knit patterns, a woven skirt and knit top (with
a knit dress option) for girls and a unisex knit yoga pant and woven
pullover
top, will compliment two additional patterns written
for quilting cottons which we will introduce later this summer.
The knits are incredibly easy to sew, and your Moda rep
has some
information about sewing with knits to share if you're interested in
more details.
The reps are taking pre-orders for the Fall knit
patterns
in conjunction with the fabric. Order the interlock and
the patterns to ship together to introduce your customers to
this great new fabric come September.
Blogroll
Month after month, we are amazed by the number and
quality of items that appear in the Oliver + S
Flickr group.
If you or your customers are looking for inspiration, there's a wealth
of it there. But here are a few blog posts featuring Oliver + S
garments that we think are especially lovely.
