I'm excited to finally be able to share our latest news with you, our wholesale customers: we will be previewing our first collection of Oliver + S fabrics at Quilt Market in May.
The line, called City Weekend, will be produced by Moda and includes some exciting elements. We have more details for you in this month's newsletter.
This month we also recap our newest three pattern styles that began shipping this month. We've been receiving especially strong feedback on them from customers, particular about the styling and the newly expanded size range.
And finally this month, we'll tell you a bit about the Oliver + S feature and pattern in the current issue of Stitch magazine which is arriving on newsstands (and, hopefully, in your shops) right now.
I'm looking forward to reconnecting with many of you at Quilt Market in Minneapolis next month. I hope you'll make a point of stopping by booth #2030 to say hello and to see the new collection of fabrics!
Cheers,
Liesl

We are very pleased to announce the first Oliver + S fabric collection, City Weekend, produced by Moda.
City Weekend will debut at Quilt Market next month in Minneapolis. We don't want to scoop ourselves by giving away too much information before Market, but we can tell you that we're very happy with the collection.
The fabric itself has a beautiful hand--lightweight, soft, and smooth--and is perfectly suited to quilts as well as apparel. We think you're going to love it. Of course we've been having fun planning how we’ll use it to make Oliver + S clothing (as well as a few pieces for the adults who work in the studio), and we’re excited to show you both the fabrics and various projects we make from them.
And, to whet your appetite more, City Weekend also includes some luxurious printed cotton interlock knits. We're really excited about this since it's so difficult to find good knits. We've been working with the interlock for a few months now, and we're thrilled with the quality. As a matter of fact, we've gotten so excited about it that we've been designing some fun and easy knit patterns to coordinate with the fabric. They will be available closer to the time when the collection ships.
Please stop by to visit us at Quilt Market to see City Weekend. If you do, we'll be happy to show you a little preview of our upcoming knit designs. If you're not going to Minneapolis, your Moda rep will have all the details for you after the show.

On April 1 we began shipping orders for our newest three patterns: the Ice Cream Dress, the Music Class Blouse and Skirt, and the Sketchbook Shirt and Shorts. All three styles are rated two of four scissors in difficulty and include our newly expanded size range.
The Ice Cream Dress pattern allows your customers to create a stylish, loose-fitting pull-on smock dress or blouse with an interesting one-piece V-notch yoke on the front and a button loop closure at the back neck.
The Music Class Blouse and Skirt pattern (pictured here) is a clean and sophisticated outfit that's as appropriate for toddlers as it is for tweens. The blouse features delicate pintucks at the front and back yoke and a button- or snap-closure front placket. The pull-on, elastic-waist skirt includes side panels with an unusual pocket construction and a pleated hem insert.
With the Sketchbook Shirt and Shorts pattern, your customers can make a classic shirt and shorts outfit. The shirt can be made with either long or short sleeves, and the collar can be sewn as either a traditional collar or a band collar. The below-the-knee length shorts feature an elastic-waistband and mock fly for classic styling without the need for a zipper fly.
If you haven't ordered yet, it's not too late. Existing customers may order via our website for same business day shipping. New customers can download a wholesale order form to establish an account.
Photos of your customers' work with these patterns are already showing up in our Flick group. Want some more inspiration to share with your customers? How about booking our trunk show featuring these styles? Contact the studio for more information and to schedule a stop at your store.

Have you seen the Spring 2010 issue of Stitch yet? If not, you're in for a treat.
This issue features both a new Oliver + S pattern and a nice profile of Liesl and the company.
The new Ruffle Halter pattern featured in the magazine is an easy pattern to sew and features some innovative construction techniques that you and your customers will appreciate.
You can read more about the pattern, and see photos of the finished top, on our blog.
