Greetings! I hope you’re finding some time to relax this summer. We will be sending the fall pattern collection to the printer in a few days, and then the real S and I are headed to visit grandparents at the lake. We’ll still be checking voice mail and email regularly, and Megan will continue to be in the studio on Tuesdays and Fridays filling orders and answering queries, so please drop a line if we can do anything for you. Otherwise, we’ll be back in August with lots more news and excitement for you.

Our spring and summer patterns can continue to be a focal part of your shop’s Oliver + S autumn and back-to-school display presentation!

Since Fall is right around the corner (and just when we were starting to enjoy this nice summer weather…), we’d like to show you how the Oliver + S spring and summer patterns can translate nicely into autumn outfits as well.

Not only can you layer the clothing with long-sleeves and sweaters for cooler weather, but the patterns can also be sewn in heavier fabrics for back-to-school dressing.

Here is the Puppet Show short made up in fine-wale corduroy with printed cotton trim to match the tunic. Worn with tights and boots or Mary Jane shoes, it’s a great autumn outfit—particularly with a soft cardigan worn on top.

The Tea Party Sundress looks terrific layered with a turtleneck or T-shirt or made up in denim or corduroy, and the Bubble Dress is especially cute peeking out from under a knitted sweater, particularly when the dress is made up in a luxurious Liberty print for special occasions.

Meanwhile, our fall and winter collection will be shipping from New York next month. We’ve created garment samples of the new designs and can’t wait to show them off. Watch for images of the new collection in next month’s newsletter!

Paper Doll Kit

If you’re one of our current wholesale customers, watch your mailbox. A special Oliver + S package is headed your way!

We’re sending you your very own paper doll kit, which we’ve found can help increase customer awareness of the patterns (who can resist a cute paper doll?) and improve your sales as a result. Your package includes both dolls, stands so they can hang out wherever you think they’ll be most comfortable (and will attract loads of attention), and complete spring and fall wardrobes so you can dress and re-dress them to your heart’s content. Have fun!
