I am pleased to launch our first company newsletter. Our plan is to send out periodic updates of all the new happenings here at Oliver + S. Because the first collection just hit the stores, there should be plenty of news to share.
We’ve shipped our first round of orders to retailers across the U.S. and even overseas! I must tell you, it has been a thrill to receive so many customer emails, letters and blog postings featuring Oliver+ S outfits. This milestone has been a long time coming and it’s inspiring to me, to say the least.
But there’s no time to dwell in the present. I am in full swing designing our Fall collection that will feature many new components: expanded sizes, designs for boys, a unisex pajama pattern and a few surprises.
All of us here at Oliver + S are incredibly grateful for your support. We value your comments, opinions and wisdom. Please feel free to drop me a line anytime. I look forward to building Oliver + S with you!
Cheers!

Calling all retailers -- we’d love to meet you face-to-face! We premiered our spring collection last October in Houston and look forward to traveling to Portland and the opportunity to show you our new fall designs. Oliver + S will be exhibiting in Booth #2555. If you’d like to schedule an appointment, just give us a call and we’ll be happy to pencil you in.
I’ll be giving a demonstration at the Brewer booth (#500) on Saturday and Sunday from 1:00-2:00pm, so please drop by.

Full Page ad - June/July
We’re thrilled to be featured in a two-page spread in the Pins and Needles section of the June/July issue. The article features our recent Moda trunk show garments and includes a few tips for sewing timeless, adorable children’s clothing.
In addition, we’ve launched our advertising campaign in this same issue featuring the full-page ad shown here. So many of our customers read this fine publication and it feels like a perfect partnership!

Laurie used Minick & Simpson’s Prairie Paisley and Winter to create her playsuit.
Laurie Simpson, a well known fabric designer, recently sent a photo of her first Oliver + S garment using the Tea Party playsuit pattern. She said, "Thought you might like to see what someone who is not particularly comfortable with a sewing machine can do…I haven’t made any clothing since eighth-grade home economics!”
Laurie’s Michigan-based company, Minick & Simpson, sells beautiful fabrics, original rug hooking patterns and quilt designs to specialty retailers nationwide. “I think Oliver + S children’s patterns are the perfect addition to any quilting shop’s product assortment. Mothers and grandmothers who purchase quilting materials also have babies, toddlers and young children in their lives,” notes Simpson. “Once they select a pattern, they can also purchase the fabric and notions they need to complete the outfit.”
Simpson says that quilting shops continue to see an increase in younger customers who are shopping for contemporary, higher quality fabrics. She attributes this to the influx of dynamic new fabric designers who are attracting a new market of motivated quilters and sewers.
We came across some great customer reviews which include photos of gorgeous finished projects. Take a look:
